Devonport

The multi-species Devonport processing plant is one of two JBS owned and operated processing facilities located on the Island of Tasmania – the only Australian state to ban the use of hormone growth promotants (HGPs) in cattle.

Devonport produces a wide range of products including HGP free grass and grain fed beef, veal, pork, and all sheep meats.

The Devonport plant employs 118 people, and processing capacity of 200 cattle per week, 600 pigs per week, 3800 sheep per week.

The plant is located adjacent to the Devonport saleyards, on the banks of the Mersey River in the centre of Tasmania's fertile Mersey/Forth Valley.
